For families
The decisions behind Findoo, written for the grown-up who has to approve it.
What we do not do
| Not in this app | Why |
|---|---|
| No accounts, no sign-in | A 5-year-old should not need an identity to play. Nothing to leak. |
| No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDK other than ads and billing | We do not want your child’s behaviour, so we do not collect it. |
| No chat, no social features, no user content | No way for a stranger to reach your child. |
| No external links inside the child’s part of the app | Nothing to tap that leads out of the game. |
| No timer, no score, no lives, no streak pressure | At this age “losing” teaches nothing worth learning. |
| No content locked behind payment | A child who cannot pay is not a second-class player. |
Ads, stated plainly
Findoo is free and is paid for by ads on Android. We do not think that fact should be buried, so here is exactly what happens:
- Nothing at all in the first ten levels.
- After that, one full-screen ad after every tenth level — at the celebration screen, never mid-level.
- The first three hints are free. After that, one ad after every third hint, and the hint is always given first. A stuck child gets help before they get an ad.
- Never at start-up. At least 90 seconds between any two ads, and at most six in one sitting.
- Ads are non-personalised, rated G, and marked child-directed. The Android advertising ID permission is removed from the app.
- iPhone and iPad: no ads at all.
If you would rather have none of it, Findoo Plus removes the ads with a one-time purchase. It is behind a parent gate, and it unlocks no content — because there is no content to unlock.
The parent gate
Everything meant for grown-ups — the progress report, settings, the printable-page maker, the purchase, and the credits — sits behind a button you must hold down for three seconds. A short tap does not open it. This is deliberately boring for a child and trivial for an adult.
What your child is practising
Seven skills are tracked separately on the device: visual search, counting, adding, shape, colour, pattern and letters. Each level is chosen to sit near an 80% success rate for that particular child — hard enough to be worth doing, easy enough to stay enjoyable. The grown-ups’ screen shows these as plain bars. It is a description, not a diagnosis, and it never leaves the device.
Content
Every object in the game is reviewed against a written content rule before it can be used: no alcohol, no gambling, no violence, no religious symbols, no depictions that conflict with the values of a Muslim family. The check runs automatically at build time and refuses to produce content if a banned item appears.
Screen time
A level takes about a minute and a half. Findoo has no mechanic that pulls a child back in — no daily streak, no login bonus, no timed event. When you say stop, nothing in the game argues with you.
